How it all began

Eskymo was formed in 2003 from a couple of pixels.

These two pixels grew and grew and developed into a rather cheeky character, who then infiltrated the in-boxes of several design companies within Scotland to gain freelance work and contacts within the design industry.

Yup, that's how it all started, believe it or not and since then Eskymo has been working hard to add a little bit of her personal sparkle to the World Wide Web and uses her own Igloo [this website] to advertise her work.

Fife Web Design?

Eskymo is based in Kinghorn on the banks of the Firth of Forth in Fife, Scotland and surrounding villages and towns include Aberdour, Burntisland, Dalgety Bay, Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline. However you don't have to be in Fife to work with Eskymo. Eskymo provides practical and effective new media design solutions in Fife, Edinburgh, Glasgow and the surrounding areas as well as further afield...

A brief summary of skills is listed on the right, but to find out more about what Eskymo can do for you and the work she has done for others, explore the Portfolio and Services sections as well as the Downloads page for some Eskymo freebies.

Philosophy

Eskymo likes to keep things simple and jargon free and believes in delivering no-nonsense, effective and usable websites that suit the commercial needs of your business and your customers. With a passion for doing things right i.e. coding sites correctly, all the sites that Eskymo now creates or re-designs are built complying to W3C standards using XHTML and CSS.

Web Standards

Your website needs to be easy to use and a pleasure to visit and by employing web standards Eskymo makes sure the navigation is intuitive and the content accessible. With valid structured code your website will look great in all modern browsers as well as functioning correctly in older ones. Not only that, utilising web standards also creates faster loading websites, decreased bandwidth, simplifies updating and lowers costs.
